The Q is a lot like a movie rental Q. You create a list of items you want to add to your home storage and then you set up a budget that works for you family. Each month you are sent some of the items on the list that are within your budget. You can then use some of those foods to cook with or snack on, and some of them can be stored for later. I choose to select my Q items from things that are on special (for example, the summer specials include mangoes, butter, cheese blend, potato chunks, broccoli cheese soup, and macaroons).
To make our Home Store work, we budget 25% less when we go to the grocery store. We replace one grocery trip with the Q. Also, instead of picking up take out, we use the convenience of THRIVE foods, which are like nutritious fast foods. No washing, defrosting, chopping, cooking / browning meats necessary, and THRIVE foods do NOT require refrigeration even after they are opened. Freeze dried foods last on average 25 years unopened, and 1-2 years once opened.
